Meta launches two new AI models aimed at coding agents

Muse Wonder and Wonder Full reportedly score near the top of one outside scoreboard.

By The Gayzette, with Claude · 1 min read · Wonder ◆◆◆◇◇

Meta released two new AI models on Monday. Muse Wonder is available through the Meta Model API and a coding tool called Muse Code; Wonder Full is limited to Muse Code subscribers. Meta advertises "Active Memory," which carries context across chats, and "Active Focus," which keeps the model working on hard goals.

On the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index v4.3, a third-party scoreboard, run at maximum reasoning, Wonder scored 52 and Wonder Full 56, against 48 for Meta's earlier Muse Spark 1.3. One quoted post puts Wonder Full second overall, 2 points behind Claude Opus 5.5. A fair caveat: this rests on a single trade-press report (TestingCatalog), the benchmark numbers are reported rather than independently checked, and pricing and context window were not stated.

On your desk: this is a new coding-agent rival to Claude Code that reportedly sits near the top tier. It may be worth a look for your Claude Code and n8n builds once pricing is public.

Editor's note

The managing editor

Good morning, and happy Tuesday. Today's lead: Meta's two new coding-agent models, Muse Wonder and Wonder Full, which a trade report puts near the top of one outside scoreboard. It rests on a single source, so read it as early word. Then two short AI items: n8n's Gemini node picks up Nano Banana image models, and Google's Gemini 4 Argon turns up in limited tests. AI news was thin, so we ran two short items, not three, and left the rumors out.

Spirit is empty today. The scout found nothing on psi, meditation, psychedelic science or UAPs that was dated and verifiable in the window, so nothing ran rather than something stretched. Crop Circle Watch: still nothing new since July 21, with a history line on the 1991 Bower and Chorley confession. The Droplet Desk and Grant Watch were quiet, so neither box runs.

The Good Ten runs a full ten, from a moviegoer's $146,000 retirement gift for a theater worker to Australia's rooftop solar record. The World, Straight has four; a fifth, on mass detentions at Delhi protests, was cut because no wire copy confirmed it. No reactions or beat decisions changed anything this time.

Housekeeping: Sonnet wrote the lead, because scouting alone used up the 300k budget. Dancing with the Stars is on tonight. Hurricane Simon is down to a Cat 1 off west-central Mexico. The fact-checker flagged 20 claims; we applied every fix before publishing.

n8n adds Nano Banana image models to its Gemini node

n8n, the workflow-automation tool, shipped version 2.42.6 on October 9 and a bug-fix release, 2.42.7, on October 12. The first adds two image models, Nano Banana 2.1 and 2 Lite, to the Google Gemini node's model list (a node is one building block in a workflow). It also blocks creating or updating workflows that use deprecated nodes, meaning building blocks n8n has retired. Version 2.42.7 is fixes only, including resuming deferred tool calls for skill-loaded tools. On your desk: after updating, pick the Nano Banana models right in the node, and check whether any older workflows use deprecated nodes before the next save.

Pakistan's president suspends Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and declares emergency

ConfirmedAP reports that President Asif Ali Zardari declared a state of emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and suspended its government on October 11, hours after the federal Cabinet recommended it. AP reports that the appointed governor, Faisal Karim Kundi, now holds executive powers and an 11-member advisory council will run provincial affairs. AP reports the province is governed by the party of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan (PTI), which had planned a march on Islamabad demanding his release; talks to postpone it failed the previous week. AP also reports Khan has been imprisoned since 2023 on corruption and other charges, which PTI calls politically motivated.

Claimed by Federal officials; Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar; PTI; PTI spokesperson Zulfiquar Bukharithe provincial government neglected counterterrorism while focusing on Khan's release. Claimed by Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar: militant violence in the province rose 196% in recent years. Claimed by PTI: Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and his cabinet were detained and the assembly suspended (a Reuters headline, seen only through a Just Security digest and not read in full, also reports detentions, citing a junior minister). Claimed by PTI spokesperson Zulfiquar Bukhari: the move is a "disguised coup."

  • Federal government: The emergency is needed to fight a surge by the Pakistani Taliban (TTP).
  • PTI: The suspension is a federal takeover of a PTI-led province; PTI disputes the February 2024 elections as rigged.

What is known

ConfirmedThis follows Monday's report on the deadly attacks on Riyadh. AP reports that coalition spokesman Gen. Turki al-Maliki asked residents near a state oil company facility in Houthi-held Sanaa, on a hill in the west of the city, and nearby storage areas to leave ahead of unspecified "operations." AP reports that Houthi military spokesman Gen. Yahya Saree warned of a "harsh and painful" response against the Saudi capital if Sanaa is targeted, and called Aramco facilities "legitimate" targets. AP reports the Houthi Foreign Ministry told international airlines that flights to Saudi airports are unsafe, except those serving Mecca and Medina. AP reports Saudi Arabia sounded air raid sirens in Riyadh on Monday evening. CBS News reports Delta postponed the start of planned Atlanta-Riyadh flights to March 2027 and that Brent crude rose above $105.

Claimed by Houthi spokesman Mohammed al-Bukhaiti; Houthi-run al-Masirah; President Trumpattacks will continue "until all Saudi oil facilities and vital facilities are destroyed" unless Riyadh ends the war. Claimed by Houthi-run al-Masirah: Saudi airstrikes hit Kamaran island, Qanawis district and Jawf province, Houthis shot down a Saudi drone over Saada and fired a ballistic missile at King Khalid airport; AP reports no Saudi comment on these. Claimed by President Trump (per CBS): the Houthis are "misbehaving very badly" and the US "may" join Saudi strikes; al-Bukhaiti threatened a "swift and painful" response if the US does.

  • Saudi-led coalition: The coalition asked residents to leave ahead of "operations."
  • Houthis: Saudi attacks on Yemen justify strikes on Saudi infrastructure.

Changing foot angle while walking eased knee arthritis pain in a trial

    Sun Oct 11

In a year-long trial of 68 people, with a fake-treatment comparison group, walking with the feet angled in or out by 5 or 10 degrees, personalized to each person, eased knee arthritis pain, with relief between ibuprofen and a narcotic. MRIs also showed slower cartilage loss. The study was published in The Lancet Rheumatology in August and got fresh coverage this week; the training, which used a shin-worn vibration device, needs simplifying before clinics can use it.

That is their claim; they said they made all circles before 1987.
